DIN EN 63118 VDE 0510-118:2018-06

This International Standard specifies general tests and requirements for the performance of lithium secondary batteries permanently installed in road vehicles not for the propulsion. Batteries replaced with permanently installed ones in road vehicles not for the propulsion are covered by this standard. Under the scope of this standard are the following typical applications of these batteries: power source for starting of internal combustion engines, lighting, on-board auxiliary equipment, energy absorption for regeneration from braking. The scope of this standard specifies voltage range classification. The battery maximum voltage is less than or equal to 60V DC. The batteries primarily used for propulsion of electric vehicles are not covered by this standard. The safety aspects of the batteries of this standard are covered in IEC 63057.
